Dr. Darko Mladenovic

Chief Veterinarian
darko mladenovic

Dr. Darko Mladenovic always wanted to become a veterinarian. Since he was young, he enjoyed helping others and chose veterinary medicine as a profession after understanding that we people should be animals’ best friends and not the other way around, especially because animals can’t tell what they’re feeling. He has dedicated his life to helping people take care of their furry pets.

Dr. Darko graduated from Sarajevo University in Veterinary Medicine and got his degree in 1989. From 1991 to 1993, he lived in Finland, where he worked as a large animal practitioner. In 1993, he moved to South Florida in search of sunny weather. In 1997, he pursued an ECFVG Certification program at Purdue University. Upon successful completion of the program in 1999, Dr. Darko received his professional license, which allowed him to start practicing veterinary medicine in South Florida. Between 1999 and 2003, he worked as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Banfield Pet Hospital in Plantation, South Florida.

Being a true animal lover and doctor at heart, Dr. Darko always had a feeling that “incurable” diseases, including cancer, allergies, diabetes, and others, are indeed inevitable. This was when he discovered the healing power of alternative therapy methods. To learn the art and science of classical veterinary homeopathy and acquire non-traditional skills required to help pets pull better through diseases and injuries, Dr. Darko pursued studies at the Pitcairn Institute of Veterinary Homeopathy (PIVH) from 2004 to 2005.
In 2003, he founded Mobile Veterinary Services Inc., and later, in 2006, he acquired Sadowsky Animal Hospital, a well-known local veterinary clinic operating in Florida since 1975. He renamed it the Animal Wellness Clinic of Tamarac to offer integrative and complementary medicine to both old and new furry patients.

Dr. Darko resides in Hollywood, South Florida, with his beloved wife, partner, Vanya, and son, Nikolas. They are proud parents of three dogs, Jacques, Cooper, and Stella, and a cat, Alexa.

Dr. Darko is a member of the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) and BCVMA (Broward County Veterinary Medical Association.
